New to the forum and want a place to introduce yourself and get to know the others here a little bit? This is your spot.
You can include anything here, but some good things to start with may be how you got into Faction Paradox, what some of your favorite FP stories are, what some of your favorite non-FP stories are, or why you chose your username.

Well how I got in to Faction Paradox. Now that is a rather hard question. Well a few years back now (just before COVID-19) I wanted to read some more eighth Doctor, but I wanted to do in in chronological order, so I looked up a list (which I have lost by now) and the first story in their after a few short stories and the movie, was the eight Doctors, I was not wowed by it but I still enjoyed it. Next it had the comics, which beloved was a bit odd but okay, so I read all four collected volumes (now I had a lot of time around now with being in lockdown and all that) so I then read the books Vampier Science to Alien Bodies, alien bodies wowed me. Massively. So I went and read up on the war found out about faction paradox and brought myself a second hand copy of “of the city of the saved…” and I have never looked back since. Also Faction Paradox and the EDA’s reinvigorated my love for Doctor Who and started my obsession with the EU (I had been in a bit os a slip, I still enjoyed but no longer obsessed about since around angels in Manhattan.). As for my user name will I ripped of a Faction Paradox Cousin from the book of the war and also a while latter started using it for myself. On other sites I am either known as “Family Paradox”, “Anastasia Cousins”, or “the Faction_Known_as_dot_dot_dot”
My all time Favourite Faction Paradox story has to be one of the audios (not the new BBV ones from 2020 onwards but some of the very old audios from the early 2000s) which I picked up cheap on CD at a Car Boot sale a little while after the first lockdown but just before the second. I listen to them before bed to relax me. Favourite non Faction Paradox book, I have a fair few, “The Icemark Chronicles: Blade of Fire” “the Epic of Gilgamesh” “the Silmarillion” “Alice in Wonderland” and I rather enjoyed the first 10,000 Dawns book.
I am Also a writer of Faction Paradox Fanfic on ao3 (I don’t think much of it is very good but I think their are a few half decent ones, and if their bad who cares)
So hello Everyone

Good thread! I'm Aristide Twain. (It's French; I honestly do not care whether you pronounce it as Arristeed or Arris-tyde, provided you don't turn it into Articide, which some people do.) I usually make a nuisance of myself on Tumblr, and on Discord where you may know me as “Scrooge MacBadger”. I also have a Twitter account but I'm not proud of that fact. I'm afraid I've been boring and used my actual pen name for this Forum, so there's no story to be had about where I picked up this username… but if anyone was wondering, the Discordian “Scrooge” is Barksian, not Dickensian, and “MacBadger” is a silly in-joke about me badgering someone about something, not Wind in the Willows crossover fiction.
As is the common story, I discovered the Faction via the EDAs, but — perhaps slightly more unusually — I really got into it by virtue of bumping into the likes of Jacob Black on Tumblr. As a writer, I sank my hooks into the lovable old chimera that is the wider extended Spiral Politic via the kindness of Arcbeatle Press, beginning with a P.R.O.B.E. story; I saw the rise and fall of New BBV, and managed to extrude the script for Sabbath and the King in that all-too-brief span of time when it seemed that the BBV FP line could work out. People seem to generally like that one, although the lion's share of the credit probably goes to Jacob Keith for producing it to a very impressive degree of quality as an audio experience. With all apologies to people who didn't like it, I'm rather afraid that I now have other, non-BBV Faction Paradox projects in the pipeline. At Obverse (if they'll keep putting up with my unaccountable inability to keep to deadlines — sorry again, Stuart, if you're reading this), and also… somewhere else. Sometimes, I also write comical webfiction about interdimensional Clockwork Cherubs. Nothing much to do with the Faction Paradox universe — well, usually — but it's home.Favourite Faction Paradox story is a tough one, though it's probably something by Miles. I'm not good at picking favourites anyway, I'm too prone to worshipping whatever it is I read most recently, provided it cleared a certain basic bar of goodness. I do believe the first one I read (if Alien Bodies & Co. don't count) was Dead Romance, and I think it's indisputable that if FP has “classics”, DR is one of them; so let's go with that.
Selecting a favourite story out of the entire gamut of fiction is much, much too tall an order and if you ask me again, you'll leave me no choice but to give you a note from my mum, the doctor, about how I'm excused from answering the question because the family dog ate my tongue. Ask thrice and I'll be forced to break out the Moffat “Silence” references, with all due apologies to the tutelary shade of Lawrence Miles.(In the interest of clarity, my mother never was a doctor — well, not that kind of doctor — and I don't own a dog.)

Hi! I'm Nate Bumber. I blog about Faction Paradox. I wiki about Faction Paradox. And when I'm very lucky, I write Faction Paradox. I've gained endless insight by reading through ye olde FP fora, so I'm very very glad to be here! 1. How I got into FP: Stumbled across it during research for a Time War fanfic that I wanted to be cooler and less pewpewy than the 50th. Then I binged some books, fell in love, and then waged a small war to get Faction Paradox allowed on the Tardis Wiki in the hopes that people would write up the books I couldn't get copies of. 2. Favorite FP stories: This has changed a lot, but I think my favorite right now is This Town. It's such a pure vision of what a FP story is. 3. Favorite non-FP stories: The last book that I fell in love with was Piranesi, but I just started Where the Crawdads Sing, and that's pretty good so far. I'm also very excited to finish Better Call Saul once that comes to a streaming platform. 4. Why I chose my username: "Doctor No More" just doesn't have the rhyme or rhythm you'd want in a good username! Looking forward to chatting with you all, and having a place to share my FP brainstorms in a way that encourages responses rather than merely likes 🤗

Rachel Redhead, I write stuff, sorry. I was known as Ushas the Rani at the old place. I did have the huge honour and pleasure to write a Faction Paradox story, in Liberating Earth, though I am a dull pebble of mediocrity among the shiny diamonds of amazing talent in the rest of the book. I generally write weird comedy sci-fi with slightly peculiar robots, as a way to comment on humanity from an outsider's perspective. I've also inflicted the character Judy Collins on the metaverse, as different iterations of her are popping up randomly in different publications. Even her best frenemy Hannah Sinclair appears in a short story collection. I've never read a FP book that I've not utterly enjoyed, I try not to pick favourites but if made to pick then I'll say the next one, not knowing which will be the next one I'll read, but it'll be excellent. OK, go on then, Of the City of the Saved, it's such a beautiful concept, with such a dark rich underbelly, with countless billions of places for adventures. Elsewhere I love the Arrowverse, one of the greatest TV creations of the last decade, very little of it planned from the start, so seeing it grow and evolve with new shows being added was amazing, but each one ending has been difficult, even when it's gone out on it's own terms like Arrow, Black Lightning, and Supergirl. I'm also loving the new Netflix adaptation of The Sandman, and I'm really hoping they adopt some of the spinoff material to create a new constellation of shows that link back to the Dreaming. My username is just the front half of my e-mail address, which was the second go, as I lost the first password and needed to create a new account, so I added the 2 and here we are today. So to sum up, sorry for being here.

Hello! I'm sometimes known as Lupan Evezan. I'm a writer, though not for anything FP-related (anything yet released, anyway, which is all I can say about that). My most notable online project is co-writing The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids - I've also written for Arcbeatle and I briefly worked with New BBV before it all collapsed in flames. Hm, let's see:
* How I got into Faction Paradox: is not a very interesting story, I'm afraid - it was recommended to me by Aristide Twain (see above), and I liked it. * Favorite FP stories: probably Dead Romance, and also Jacob Black's "Going Once, Going Twice" in The Book of the Peace. * Favorite non-FP fiction: Hm, very difficult to say. Lots of things equally, I suppose. I've read the Gormenghast trilogy relatively recently and would highly recommend it. * Why I chose my username: It's based off of the aforementioned pen name, which was originally the name of a character I invented when I was very young. I've used it as my username on almost every site I've ever joined.
I tend to be rather silent on forums and such due to general shyness, but I'll certainly be around.

Hi, I am Bongo50. I'm pretty new to Faction Paradox. I first found out about it through reading Tardis Wiki ( which I also edit). When I first got into Doctor Who (which was surprisingly recently: only 2020), I got a lot of enjoyment from reading about the more obscure and less mainstream pieces of media. This, naturally, included Faction Paradox. Since then, I have always wanted to get into Faction Paradox but never really got round to it. A few months ago, I used Lulu to order a print-on-demand copy of The Book of the War and have read a handful of the entries. A little more recently, I found Of the City of the Saved... in my local comic book shop's basement and bought it. I haven't yet read it but I plan to after I buy and read This Town Will Never Let Us Go (I like to experience stories in release order, even when it's not strictly necessary). That brings me up to now when I have just finished my first Faction Paradox story, The Eleven-Day Empire, a few minutes ago. I enjoyed it and plan to continue with the audio series. Outside of Faction Paradox, I like a lot of other stories and series, mostly in the sci-fi, fantasy and young adult genres. Picking a favourite is too hard, so I won't. My username originates from my earliest days on the Internet as a child and I've stuck with it since.

Rachel Redhead, I write stuff, sorry. Welcome Rachel, glad you made your way here! You're selling yourself short, you know – I'm a big fan of Judy Collins, your stories always make me laugh, they're such a wonderful addition to the universe. And agreed about Sandman spinoffs – here's hoping we get a Johanna Constantine show! With all the recent cancellations, Discovery clearly can't be trusted to do any kind of good DC adaptation, so maybe Netflix is our only hope. Hello also to Bongo! That brings me up to now when I have just finished my first Faction Paradox story, The Eleven-Day Empire, a few minutes ago. I enjoyed it and plan to continue with the audio series. Oh good! Definitely post your thoughts when you're able, we need a Protocols thread.

I know but I'm going to have about 2 consecutive hours to fill with audios tomorrow which makes 2 audios fit quite well. Perhaps I'll do 1 and then fill the rest with Big Finish.

Hello I'm PI9090. Newish Faction scholar and hopeless fanartist. Introduced to The Faction Paadox by my mother due to a remark I made after the End of Time Part 2: Me, "Huh with the Master in charge they might just win". Her, "Well about that..". Currently working on many Faction related things but mainly fanfiction and fanart, (I'm not intentionally going through the Book Of the War to see what symbols I can make I swear). It's not intentional he's just that sad.
Preferences: The Mad Norwegian Press era, Obverse novels and two or three of the anthologies, and the original two audio series.

Introduced to The Faction Paadox by my mother due to a remark I made after the End of Time Part 2: Me, "Huh with the Master in charge they might just win". Her, "Well about that..". Hah! Wonderful way to get started. Come to think of it, there was definitely a time when a NuWho-FP-reconciler could, if so inclined, have theorised that the War King somehow followed on from John Simm's Master being hurled back into the War; perhaps he somehow ended up thrown back too early, for example, and changed the whole course of the War — correcting the accident of fate that would have allowed the Daleks to become the Enemy, only to open the way for something rather more interesting to declare War in their stead… Of course, The Doctor Falls has rendered this reading considerably more difficult, much as all overly-involved NuWho/FP tie-ins tend to break down sooner or later.

First I'd like to say that I'm a huge fan of DW, and a bit obsessive about Gallifrey/homeworld.
I confess that I only read a part of the beginning of The Book of the War, then I stopped. So my knowledge about FP is not as great as you should, and a lot of my knowledge comes from Posts, the TARDIS Wiki, and the odd little thing out there
I first met The War, after researching more about the Time War (on the TARDIS Wiki). Later I became very interested in this idea, mainly in relation to the Nine Gallifreys and their Clones. I became very interested in Time Lords and everything related to Homeworld.
I'm currently starting to read the EDA (I had already read Eighth Doctors and Aliens Bodie), Now I'm focused on reading everything in spear order (I left NA for later, since I haven't seen Era so 7th yet)
Having said all that, I hope I can get to know more about FP and all these amazing-sounding stories.
By the way, I'm Brazilian
