I think that The Brakespeare Voyage is an underrated story. It takes a much different tone than other Faction books I've read with its baroque language, but still gets gothic with its prophecy of a doomed voyage, ghost ship, and undead pirates. The imagery is rich.
Nebaioth isn't dynamic but his drive makes him compelling and he feels very human. All of the characters get just enough attention to be memorable.
