Earth: HistoryCirca 1850: During the end of and for a short time after the Tokugawa isolation certain aboriginal Ainu groups hosted a powerful enemy force, (whether this was the enemy leadership itself and or it's, "reps" it's not known or agreed) passively observing the Timelord's Gauntlet training facility.
PosthumanityThe human groups involved in the War are far more creative then most of the major combatants.
Praxis(See the Dune novels or the Lynch movie it's not clear).
SiloportemRabbit headed priests of: gibberism, anathemism, and fractal stoicism prosecuted by the dominant, "Church of the Aesthetic". As Mr Miles has Bioshock splicer rabbit mask avatar the inference is obvious.
Timetravel: PosthumanPosthuman timetravellers lurked on the battlefields or even aided the enemy so they could steal timetravel technology.
War Predictions: The Riveria ManuscriptPotocki's Saragossa manuscript was another Praxis inspired text.
Stolen by the Faction from a rich American's collection.
Not the original text but a typed manuscript copy with handwritten annotations, (in English but not written by a human hand including, "Praxis is what we are supposed to be").
The original text included statistical information was written in a symbolic language.
The 8th Doctor's prediction of how the War would start/an enemy attack on Gallifrey and the subsequent questioning.
Appendix IV Notes on the Riveria ManuscriptThe most famous War Prediction.
Only 1 quarter is readable.
The 8th Doctor was imprisoned and heavily dosed with Praxis ostensibly to induce prescient vissions.
Captors: Humanoids, a non carbon presence, and something the Doctor called, "the first, the many, the indivisible", (One?). The physical captors were reps.
The enemy had started studying Timelord weaknesses long before the War started.
Not an exact match for the actual first attack on Gallifrey. Only the Academicians for Game Logic think it High Council's interprtation is overly literal.
It have been the interrogator's report.
"One" only appears in the House Lungbarrow atack sequence. 8 may have asked it, "Why do you hate us?". (A more direct enemy rep?)
The 8th Doctor considers it to be his imagination not a true prediction.
VisionStructurally similar to the Saragossa Manuscript with some differences.
Part 1.A brief action packed decription of the 8th Doctor's capture.
Part 2.The Doctor is heavily dosed with Praxis and becomes caught in a regression of alternate timestates. Several discrete sequences the most notable being an unknown but familiar House, (presmumably Lungbarrow) and seeming inside Gallifrey's sun. The regressive state is discribed as a sort of physical battle between 8 and the interrogator for control of the vision.
The House Lungbarrow attack is the longest and most significant section. The guards, (members of the Prydonian Watch?) say it is under telepathic attack.
The House and then later several others is destroyed by a black fireball, (maybe a supercharged chunk of causal nexus) that materialised in the air, (
Black fireballs/spheres are a recurring visual motif of the Timelord's enemies. Possible noosphere weapon that corrupted them into becoming mindless crazed killers). The occupants were spontaneously overwhelmed by seizures or and madness attacking anyone they found.
The 8th Doctor suggests the fginal attack will be against the Eye of Harmony andd doesn't understand why the enemy doesn't do it instead continuing the attack for several days. All of the looms scream.
Stolen .T.T. capsules return and explode.
The enemy troops were Ashla shock troops who emerge from tears in the sky. The enemy hasn't used the Ashla as rep soldiers, the Blood Coteries banned timetravel, and their history is too well recorded sor such an ommission to exist.
(A little canonwelding: The visual simularities between their arrival and
that of the Toclfane suggests they are present due to a paradox machine. The Doctor knows of the concept and as a Timelord dislikes/fears paradox's reinforcing the idea that this could be his idea of what an enmy attack would be like).
When the loomshed is overrun the troopers ignore the survivors plunging into the loom denotating themselves quckly mutating the loom.
Conversation between: 8, Interrogator, and One
8, "Is that what your planning?".
Interrogator or One, "It might be".
Interrogator or One, "It still could be".
Interrogator or One, "Remember".
Interrogator or One, "Inside the skin of the Sun".
Interrogator or One, "It's an option".
8, "It wouldn't work".
Interrogator or One, "What if someone tried it?".
Any of the three, "What if you were called to account".
Interrogator or One, "It's an option".
Interrogator or One, "Always an option".
Interrogator or One, "You keep the sun".
Interrogator or One, "In a bottle".
Interrogator or One, "You want to know what happens when you lose control".
Interrogator or One, "Don't you?".
(I think if we crack who's talking we might understand a bit more.
Why do they thnk a Timelords would want to see what an, "unboxed" Eye of Harmony would be like?).
What did we learn about the enemy?56.Circa 1650, (soon after the Tokugawa isolsation) the enemy and or it's reps observed The Guantlet from Ainu territory.
57.Maybe less creative then Posthumanity.
58.Assisted by some of the timetraveling posthumans both out of belief and to enable timetravel technology theft.
59.Used reps for at least Praxis interrogations.
60.Studied Timelord weaknesses long before the War started.
61.May use charged casual nexus chunks in the form of black fireballs as weapons.
62.May use noosphere weapons to corrupt beings into mindles crazed killers.
63.May know that black suns/spheres are a recurring Timelord enemy visual motif.
64.The enemy could impliment the 8th Doctor's imagined attack.
65.The enemy might see the Doctor as just another Timelord.
66.The enemy might like to observe and join in with Timelord interrogations by proxy.
