1. Be kind and respectful
All users on the forum are expected to hold themselves to a basic standard of courtesy and etiquette. Disagreements will inevitably arise on a discussion platform like this, and discussions between people holding opposing viewpoints are not only expected, but are encouraged. However, do not escalate disagreements. Any attacks on a person's character will not be tolerated. In addition, when you are in disagreement with someone, users are expected to assume good faith.
2. Do not express hate
Any expression of hatred towards a person or group of people will not be tolerated. This includes the endorsement of any ideology which vilifies an entire group of people. This also includes the use of any slurs in any context.
3. No NSFW content
Do not post content that is explicitly sexual, violent, or NSFW for any reason. Due to the general demographic of Faction Paradox, it isn't expected that there will be any very young people using this forum, so topics like sex and violence do not have to be entirely avoided. However, this forum is not a space for in-depth discussion or explicit depiction of such things.
4. No spamming
Self-explanatory. Spam will be deleted.
5. No trolling
Do not post anything that is deliberately designed to provoke a strong negative emotion in other users. Do not post anything that is designed to "bait" people into saying things they otherwise wouldn't. Do not enter a discussion in bad faith solely to try to prove a point about your opponent.
6. No low-quality posting
The quality of a post is an inherently subjective description, but all users are expected to put a baseline level of effort into their posts. Humor is fine, but low-effort "shitposting" is not.
7. Keep media sizes reasonable
Exceptionally large images are discouraged - they make things load slower, particularly for those with slower internet. There is also a limit to the amount of space on the forums for attachments, so whenever possible, insert an image using a URL rather than uploading it as an attachment.
8. Stay on-topic
When posting in the Spiral Politic section, users are expected to stay on-topic and discuss Faction Paradox. Any off-topic discussion should take place in the Mictlan section. Discussion of Doctor Who is considered off-topic, with the exception of stories which directly deal with the War in Heaven or Faction Paradox like Alien Bodies and The Taking of Planet Five. Likewise, stories in other series are considered on-topic based on whether or not they feature Faction Paradox elements prominently: Cwej: the Series is by-and-large considered on-topic since it deals with Chris Cwej working for the Homeworld and the Cwejen, both of which are prominent aspects of the Faction Paradox mythos. Iris Wildthyme, on the other hand, is typically considered off-topic, with the exception of stories featuring her which directly crossover with Faction Paradox. These same principles apply to non-Doctor Who related series which cross over with Faction Paradox such as 10,000 Dawns.
These rules will be enforced using a 3-strike policy - users who have to be warned 3 or more times will receive either a temporary or permanent ban, depending on the severity of the circumstance. In addition, if someone breaks these rules in an especially egregious manner, they may be banned immediately without warning.
