Right, so at this point we all obviously know that there's more Faction Paradox on the horizon, what with the new site and the promo they posted on Halloween, and I think it's a bit of an open secret that it's more audios (I mean the footage of the record player in the trailer wasn't exactly subtle.)
So, I figured it'd be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to speculating about the tentatively titled "Season 3" once we get more information about it, as well as just talking about what we'd like to see in a new season.
[Should go without saying, but this thread is obviously gonna be massive spoiler territory for seasons 1 and 2, so anyone who hasn't gone through all the audios, turn back now!]
There's little to be garnered from the cryptic hints we've received so far, apart from the blatant reference to the Hatchling project, first mentioned in Interference, which cloned renegade Time Lords House members for use in the War. Personally, I think this hints towards a potential return for the War King, either as an actual clone or as the mind of the original WK in a new cloned body à la The Emperor from Star Wars. But whatever they use it for, I'm game, because I always thought the hatchlings were a cool concept.
Now, as for what I'd like to see, it'd be nice for the concept of Justine being a manufactured messiah to be explored further. Vaguely hinted at early on in the Protocols stories, and then basically stated explicitly by the end with the inclusion of Shuncucker, this idea isn't really explored that much in the second season. I've often wondered if this had anything to do with the fact that in the middle of the Protocols, the Matrix sequels came out and did something very similar, so Miles downplayed it so it didn't seem like he was copying the Wachowskis (although given how much the sisters "borrowed" from other works, I don't think many would've cried foul!) But yeah, seeing Justine's position as a sort of messianic figure explored more would be interesting, especially if we get to see the negative impacts a figure like that can have on a culture (big Dune fan, so I love a good messiah bash.)
Outside of that, I just want to know more about the state of the Spiral Politic in the aftermath of the second season. A lot of stories since seem afraid to go past that year 50 point, so it'd be nice to know how the rebuilding of the Faction is going, what the state of the Homeworld is and what actually happened to Lolita/Lilith. I'm actually torn, because part of me hopes it's 10-15 years after, so the Faction can just already be rebuilt and they can play it as a soft reboot, but I'm also really interested in seeing the immediate aftermath of The Judgement of Sutekh. I guess that's what flashbacks are for.
Also please bring back Eliza, I'll do anything.

I have seen hints suggesting that it won’t directly follow Justine but I feel she might appear at some point (I really do hope so). The War Kings Prominent appearances in Sabbath and the King and Book of Snowstorms seem to suggest that something is going to be done with them as well. I would definitely like to see adventures beyond the fall of the Empire. Whilst Book of the Enemy and Book of Peace introduced the Shadow Spire which it then properly destroyed leaving Faction Paradox in the same situation as it was before. Spinning Jenny is the only one one to further the Factions restoration and then not see that restoration undone. And we know Justine made her base in the new base made in that book. I hope the series will pick up after this point centring one this Faction Cell, with Justine as a central character but not the main character I would like to have a look at this Second Restoration Faction (the first restoration happening after the loss of the original Faction Homeworld) from a new members perspective. The best look at a Would be Messiah if from their disciples eyes. This is highlighted in a Rather meta part of the True History audios with a charecter saying that without Eliza the story would not make sense I agree. I also feel that some new characters would be interesting and put some fresh blood in to the series. I do disagree with you on one point Eliza should stay dead. When someone’s dies they should stay dead especially in something like Faction Paradox. Although they could have a fancy paradox and have a younger version of Eliza show up and just not have her go back. Creating a rather nasty paradox. Which I am sure the Faction would appreciate. But even then I would be careful with that.

Hmm I dunno, I feel like viewing the Messiah through a disciple gives them too much legitimacy, whereas the whole point is that it's all artificial, a fabrication. Sticking to Justine's POV would work better for that imo, once again like in Dune/Dune Messiah where we follow Paul's perspective and how he views the crooked system built around him. Some new leads definitely wouldn't hurt, though. It'd be nice to have more recurring Faction characters. Also yeah, I really can't justify Eliza coming back haha, I just like the character. Although I am a sucker for a good Racer X/The Preacher archetype where you're left wondering "Is this person really insert supposedly dead main character here?", so maybe bring her back like that, idk.

Although I am a sucker for a good Racer X/The Preacher archetype where you're left wondering "Is this person really insert supposedly dead main character here?", so maybe bring her back like that, idk. I feel that viewing it from the disciples perspective gives it more ambiguity. Justine is not Paul nor is she Jesus or even Neo, she is Justine, I feel that her role as a messiah is more complex than she is and she is not. She wields the Grandfathers Shadow she saved the Faction and rebuilt them. To me that feels very close to a messiah I do not believe a second weirder of the Grandfather disproves this especially considering the fact that it was that fellow that led to her joining the faction in the first place. If anything a see them as two sides of the same coin both make legitimate claims to the title of Grandfather Paradox. Of course the question becomes what dose it mean to be a messiah? Does one literally have to be the reincarnation or is it something more spiritual. Of course one should take in to account that I regularly fall for Faction Paradox propaganda (I am more likely to fall for Remote propaganda even more than that) due to the constant temptation the idea of the Faction gives me. A disciple I always feel is more accurate depiction we can not know what is going on with a messiah (real or otherwise) as we can see the questioning of faith and what faith makes you do. The ups and downs. I feel a ground level perspective gives the audience a better perspective on the goings on. This is way Movers and Labyrinth of History are my least favourite of the Faction Paradox audios because they don’t have the more down to earth Eliza to put things in perspective. This fact is like I said highlighted in True History as she grounds things. of course one could argue that Eliza is the true Messiah of Faction Paradox and the Osirians. And that Justine is false only in that she did not realise who the true Messiah was. But of course the Faction itself is not the most unified of organisations, so it is possible it could have more than one. After all the Great Houses where founded by a trio so why can the Faction not be reborn from one as well? but I feel the real question is what do we mean by Messiah. I myself have always believed that if something can alter The very nature of reality it is for all intents and purposes a god, of course I would like to add I feel duty bound to topple gods and god like beings. And once more I would like to add the Factions Propaganda is rather effective on me in places.

Of course, I had heard rumblings for some time - and I’m assuming this has NOTHING to do with the atrocity that’s been going on at BBV for the past little while. But could you at least direct me to this new site you’re referring to? (I’ve googled but have found nothing!)

The site's factionparadox.co.uk/ As for the Halloween promo, it was on their Twitter, you'll probably have to scroll a bit to find it. Thank you so much - of course I didn’t think to simply look at the old Faction Paradox web page! Also, just FYI, they’ve pinned the trailer to the top of their X/Twitter page, so it was easy to find. All very exciting! I’ll post my thoughts on a third series shortly.
